Positive Psychology Coaching

Working with who you are already

Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what helps people to thrive and function well. So, instead of focusing only on problems or symptoms, it looks at our strengths, wellbeing, resilience, and other factors that support a more balanced and meaningful life. Research has shown that when we actively build on our strengths and nurture positive thoughts and emotions, we can feel more resilient, confident, and better able to cope with life’s challenges

Our Character Strengths (Peterson & Seligman, 2004) are more than just qualities or traits, they are our positive consistant patterns thinking, feeling and behaving that are morally valued and contribute to wellbeing.

Positive Psychology Coaching is not about forced positivity or ignoring challenges. It’s about understanding how your mind works, recognising these strengths, and building a more supportive relationship with yourself.

This approach is particularly effective if you struggle with:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Lack of confidence
  • Anxiety or self-doubt
  • Feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself

A therapeutic coaching approach

This is not traditional “goal-setting” coaching focused on performance or productivity. All Pages

Instead, it’s a more therapeutic, reflective process—helping you understand why you think and feel the way you do, and how to gently shift those patterns.

We focus on:

  • Self-awareness and emotional understanding
  • Building confidence from within
  • Reducing self-criticism
  • Strengthening resilience and coping
  • Creating realistic, sustainable change

Working with your strengths

A key part of this approach involves identifying and using your core strengths.
Using frameworks such as VIA Character Strengths, we explore qualities like resilience, perspective, courage, and kindness—and how to actively use them in your daily life.
This helps you:

  • Feel more like yourself again
  • Build confidence in a natural way
  • Approach challenges with greater ease
  • Reduce reliance on external validation

Building self-esteem that lasts

Low self-esteem often isn’t about ability—it’s about long-standing thought patterns and internal narratives.
Together, we work to:

  • Challenge unhelpful beliefs
  • Develop a more balanced self-view
  • Strengthen self-trust
  • Create a more supportive inner dialogue

A calm and structured process

Sessions are conversational, but focused.
You’ll leave with:

  • Clear insights
  • Practical tools
  • A stronger understanding of yourself

This is about meaningful change—not just temporary motivation

Is this right for you?

This approach may suit you if you want something deeper than traditional coaching, but not as clinical as therapy.

It works particularly well alongside hypnotherapy, or as a standalone process.
